About our Management Board and how to become a member.

The Association continues to be managed by volunteers who are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting of its shareholders. Anyone over the age of 16 can become a shareholder although the Association places particular emphasis on the involvement of tenants in managing its affairs.

To serve on our Management Board, you must first become a member of the Association. All you have to do is complete an application for membership form and pay the membership fee of £1. Your application will then be presented to our Management Board for approval. The application form can be downloaded here or can be obtained on request by contacting the office. 

Our current Management Board consists of 12 members, made up of tenants, local residents and individuals who work or have an interest in the local area.  Our rules allow us to have a minimum of 7 members and a maximum of 15 members. At present, we have 2 spaces available for election and will seek to recruit in time for our next AGM. 

We are looking for individuals to serve who can demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of social housing & working as part of a team to collectively lead the strategic direction of the Association. In particular we are seeking someone with a financial background. 

Our Management Board must meet at least 6 times per year and our calendar of meetings is approved annually. We tend to hold at least 10 meetings per year, they are held on a Tuesday and start at 5:45pm.

In addition, members are allocated to a Sub Committee (Finance, Audit & Risk, Operations and/or Staffing)

Code of Conduct, Declaration of Interest, Eligibility to Serve & Equalities Monitoring

Applicants are required to complete an Eligibility to Serve Declaration before they can be elected onto the Board. Members annually sign off on the code of conduct declare personal interests. The declaration of interest register can be accessed here and is updated as and when required.

We also request members complete and Equalities Monitoring Form that will help us ensure that relevant support is put in place, ensuring participation is inclusive.
